A Halloween envelope, with the costumes inside.

The costumes and the pumpkins, for the people who didn’t get to see them. Write the letter, add the photos, and a film if there’s one to send, so they can hear you say it. Pay once and send the link. They open it on their screen, like the real thing.

Envelopes that suit the occasion

The first is the one this occasion usually starts on. Each piece inside gets its own paper and type, and you can change the envelope any time before you pay.

What goes inside

Halloween envelope: what goes inside

Any mix, up to ten pieces, revealed one at a time in the order you set. Put in one, or all three.

A letter

Who they went as, how far down the street they got, and how many sweets went before bedtime.

Dear Nana, Ivy went as a bat. Max went as a slightly different bat.

A postcard

The costumes on the doorstep, and the pumpkin on its first night, before it started to sag.

The pumpkin, day one. It did not see day four.

A film

The haul tipped out on the living room floor, or everyone in costume saying boo to camera.

How it works

About five minutes, start to sent. Longer if the letter’s a long one.

Step 1

Fill it

A letter, a postcard, a film — any mix, up to ten pieces. Each one can have its own paper and type, in whatever order you like.

Step 2

Pay once

One price for the whole envelope: $1.29 for letters and postcards, $5 with a film. One card payment through Stripe. Nothing sends until it's paid for.

Step 3

Send the link

They get one link, no app, no account — by text, by email, or from us. Send it now, or keep it sealed until the day. They tap the seal, the flap lifts, and each piece comes out in the order you set.

Halloween envelope questions

The ones people ask before they send their first.

Can it open on Halloween night?

Yes. Send the link whenever suits you and set it to open on the 31st, at dusk if you like. Until then they see the sealed envelope and a countdown.

Is it too scary for little ones?

Not really. It’s bats, a cobweb and a cartoon spider on a thread. Poke the spider to open it, and a few more creep out and wander along the bottom of the screen. That’s as scary as it gets.

How much does it cost?

$1.29 for letters and postcards, $5 with a film. One price for the whole envelope, up to ten pieces, paid once by card through Stripe. No subscription.

Do they need an app?

No. One link, opened in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. They tap the seal and the envelope opens.

When should I send it?

Whenever you like. Send the link straight away, or send it now and set the day and time it opens — until then they’ll see the sealed envelope and a countdown.

Can I change it after I’ve paid?

Until they open it, yes. Sign in with the email you paid with and change what’s inside; the link stays the same. You can’t add anything that costs more than you paid, and once they’ve opened it, it stays as it is.

How long does it last?

For good. They can open it as many times as they like. A film is kept for a year after it’s first opened, and they can save their own copy.

Say it properly.

Five minutes to write. One payment. One link they’ll open more than once.
