Terms
The deal, in plain English: what you’re buying, what happens if something goes wrong, and what you can’t use Stampgoose for.
Who we are
Stampgoose is run by Jake Robert Powney, a sole trader in the UK, trading as Stampgoose. “We” and “us” below means them.
Address: 15 Dargle Rd, Sale M33 7FN, United Kingdom
Email: hello@stampgoose.com
What you’re buying
A digital envelope: letters, postcards and a film, up to ten pieces, sealed and sent as one link that opens in a web browser. Nothing is printed or posted. The price depends on what’s inside, and you see it before you pay. It’s a one-off payment, not a subscription.
You need to be 18 or over to buy one. Whoever you send it to doesn’t need an account, an app or anything else.
Paying
You pay once, by card, through Stripe. We never see your full card details. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, including any VAT we have to charge. Your envelope is sealed and its link is ready as soon as the payment goes through, and we email you a receipt with the link.
Cancelling and refunds
Buying something online in the UK usually gives you 14 days to change your mind. An envelope is digital and ready the moment you pay, so before you pay we ask you to agree that it can be sealed straight away. That means you can’t cancel it for a refund afterwards.
That doesn’t touch your rights if something’s wrong. If your envelope doesn’t work as described (it won’t open, a piece is missing, a film won’t play because of something on our side), email us and we’ll put it right. If we can’t, we’ll refund you.
If you paid twice by mistake, or paid for an envelope you meant to throw away, email us within 14 days. If it hasn’t been opened, we’ll refund it.
Changing an envelope after paying
Until it’s first opened, you can change what’s inside by signing in with the email you paid with. You can’t add anything that would cost more than you paid. Once it’s been opened, it stays as it is.
How long things are kept
- The link, letters and photos are kept for as long as Stampgoose runs. If we ever have to close, we’ll email you at least 60 days before, so you can save what you’ve sent.
- Uploaded films are kept for a year after the envelope is first opened, then deleted. The envelope has a button to save a copy before then. Films linked from YouTube or Vimeo stay wherever they’re hosted.
- Unpaid drafts are deleted after 90 days without a change.
What you put in it
What you write and upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it and to show it to anyone who opens the link. That’s all we use it for.
Anyone with the link can open the envelope, so treat the link like the envelope itself. A passphrase adds a lock, but only share things you’d be all right with the recipient passing on.
What you can’t send
Don’t use Stampgoose to send anything that’s illegal, or that:
- harasses, threatens or bullies someone, or goes to someone who’s asked not to hear from you;
- uses photos, films or words that aren’t yours to share, including pictures of other people they wouldn’t agree to;
- is sexual and involves anyone under 18, or is sexual and sent to someone who hasn’t agreed to it;
- is spam, a scam, or tries to trick someone into giving away passwords, money or personal details.
If we’re told about an envelope like that, we may take it down without a refund, and we’ll pass it to the police where the law needs us to.
If things go wrong
We’ll take reasonable care running Stampgoose. We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that’s a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not taking reasonable care, but not for loss nobody could have foreseen, and not for business losses: it’s for personal use. Otherwise, the most we’ll owe you for any envelope is what you paid for it.
Nothing here limits what we can’t limit by law, including our responsibility for death or injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new ones apply to envelopes bought after the date at the top. The terms you agreed to when you paid still cover that envelope.
The law that applies
These terms are under the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in your own courts too. If you live outside the UK, you keep any consumer protections your own country gives you.
